ABOUT THE THERAPIST

Julie Fournier, MscPT, CLT

Julie graduated from the University of Calgary with a Bachelors in Medical Community Rehabilitation & Disability studies in 2016 and from University of Alberta with a Masters of Science in Physiotherapy in 2018. Since graduating from University of Alberta, she has been busy completing post-graduate courses within the orthopedic division of the Canadian Physiotherapy Association,  Manual Lymph Drainage through Klose Training, acupuncture, TMJ, as well as gaining experience working with cancer patients in  Rehabilitation Oncology.

In clinical practice, Julie uses a holistic approach using manual therapy, acupuncture, or cupping to restore joint mechanics followed by muscle retraining and motor control strategies to correct movement dysfunction. Julie provides individualized, one-on-one treatment and develops exercise programs geared toward the level and goals of the patient.

Julie has a particular interest in oncology rehabilitation, chronic pain management and has been working with cancer and chronic pain patients for many years. Miss Fournier provides services/strategies to help manage side effects from cancer related treatments such as: chemotherapy induced peripheral neuropathy (CIPN), axillary web syndrome, pain and reduced range of motion from surgery or radiation therapy, lymphedema management via manual lymph drainage, and mobility and balance strategies, etc. Julie also has experience in chronic pain management and can provide pain neuroplasticity strategies and education to help with activities of daily living.

Julie's passion to help people gain confidence and live their best active life as it transpires through her practice, as she loves motivating and challenging her clients to reach their goals and optimal physical potential. As an avid hiker, kayaker and cross-country skier, Julie tries to encompass exercise goals that help client return to performing their favorite activities.
