CANCER PHYSIOTHERAPY/ REHABILITATION
Often times, while undergoing or after cancer treatments, people experience symptoms that can affect Activities of Daily Living (getting dressed, picking up small objects, doing daily tasks, etc). These symptoms can range from dizziness, nausea to numbness and tingling from chemo, decreased range of motion and / or pain from surgery or radiation, decreased strength, impaired balance, fatigue, difficulty opening jaw, and swelling/ lymphedema, to name a few.
Cancer physiotherapy can help alleviate some of the symptoms and provide appropriate and safe exercises to help manage or lessen side effects & symptoms, regain strength and mobility, as well as improve quality of life.
Your therapist may use modalities such as acupuncture, cupping and manual therapies to help with symptoms management. You will be provided some specific exercises and education to help you maintain or improve your strength, mobility and range of motion.
Cancer physiotherapy rehabilitation can help throughout treatment and beyond, which may also improve your quality of life by reducing symptoms impacting your home and work life.
